MiG-19 Farmer
A classic late 50s Light Fighter, armed with four beam-riding missiles that will fly toward wherever you point your crosshairs.
— In-game description
The MiG-19 Farmer is a light fighter from the 1950s era. Due to technology limitation of its time, its twin afterburning engines can become unstable with extended afterburner use and damage the airframe. Its beam-riding missiles, although difficult to aim, provide the highest damage for short range missiles. Its slow firing, large caliber, armor piercing cannon produces a distinct intimidating sound. With good agility and a strong weapons loadout the MiG-19 Farmer excels in close range dog fighting. While difficult to fly to its potential, in the hands of a skilled pilot, the Mig-19 Farmer can deal serious damage to even the most modern aircraft.
Loadout
The MiG-19 Farmer is equipped with short range ×4 beam-riding missile, and an
internal precision cannon with medium armor piercing ammunition. The MiG-19 Farmer is also equipped with
×3 flares.

Special Ability
The MiG-19 Farmer has a special ability called Gun Cooling. When activated, it instantly removes all heat from (overheated) cannons, and temporarily reduces overheat rate.
Veteran tips
The MiG-19 Farmer's stand out attribute is devastating weapons package. The beam-riding missiles are difficult to aim, as there is no lock reticle. When the missile is fired, it is steered with the (cannon) crosshairs. The missile has a proximity fused blast radius. A direct impact upon an opponents aircraft is not needed to inflict serious damage. Be cautious of the blast radius. If a missile is fired and the opponent is too close to the pilot's MiG-19 Farmer, that missile's blast radius may damage both aircraft. To maximize weapon effectiveness, it best to be disciplined in launching missiles. A suggested tactic is fire the missile and guide the missile to the target with cannon fire aim assist. The unique beam-riding missiles do not produce a lock warning on the opponents head-up-display. The opponent does not know that the missile has been launched, and does not know to flare and counter-maneuver. The cannons have medium armor piercing ammunition and are accurate. The unstable afterburner trait allows for only 8 seconds of afterburner fuel, after the fuel is spent, damage will occur to the aircraft. If used too often, the afterburner will fail and disable for a period of time. A truly unique sound is produced when the afterburner fails. Strong acceleration compensates for the afterburner deficiencies. With strong acceleration and nimble agility, it is most advantageous when used in close-in dogfighting while firing upon an opponents tail. Do not apply the Improved Targeting Mod to the MiG-19 Farmer. The mod has no affect on the beam-riding missiles.
Trivia
In-game, MiG-19 Farmer appears to be equipped with the Russian Kaliningrad K-5, a short-range large beam-riding air-to-air missile. First tested in 1953, with technology of the era, it was guided by a rudimentary radar beam. It was intended to be a short-range anti-bomber missile. In real life, the MiG-19 Farmer was the world's first mass-produced supersonic aircraft. It was the first Soviet production aircraft capable of supersonic speeds in level flight. In the rush to get the MiG-19 Farmer into service it was found that the aircraft had a number of serious problems. Early units suffered a number of in-flight explosions, eventually traced to poor insulation between the aircraft's engines and fuel tanks in the rear fuselage. Over heating the fuel supply would cause explosions.
