Aircraft
In Metalstorm, players have access to a vast collection of aircraft to choose from. All players begin with the F-5 Tiger as their initial aircraft, and unlocking all others requires reaching a specific hangar level, as well as acquiring the necessary aircraft credits for purchase. In Metalstorm, every aircraft is balanced in such a way that, while higher-level ones may hold an advantage, skilled players can still excel even with the earliest planes available if used correctly. These aircraft are classified into five types, each representing a general class of attributes, strengths, and strategic roles on the battlefield.
Types of Aircraft
Light Fighters
Light fighters excel in agility and speed, making them ideal for engaging in close-quarters dogfights and executing evasive maneuvers. These aircraft specialize in outmaneuvering adversaries and delivering precise strikes.
Medium Fighters
Medium Fighters strike a balance between agility and firepower, offering versatility and adaptability on the battlefield.
Heavy Fighters
Heavy Fighters prioritize raw power and durability. While lacking in maneuverability compared to lighter counterparts, these aircraft excel at dealing substantial damage to enemy targets.
Interceptors
Interceptors are specialized aircraft designed to intercept and engage enemy targets before they can inflict damage. With exceptional speed and long range weapons, these planes excel at neutralizing threats with precision at long distances.
Attack
Attack aircraft feature heavy armor and devastating firepower to obliterate enemies in a few moments. While they tend to have slower speeds compared to other aircraft types, they excel in engaging in head-to-head battles and win due to their enhanced survivability.
