F-4 Phantom
A classic 60s era Heavy Fighter that focuses more on straight-line speed than raw maneuverability.
— In-game description
The F-4 Phantom is a heavy fighter with low agility but a lot of firepower to make up for it. Additionally, it features a cannon, providing a useful option when encountering challenging situations and being caught in the crossfire. Mastery of the aircraft may take some time, but once achieved, it proves to be a formidable fighter.
Loadout
The F-4 Phantom has a assault cannon, short-range ×4 heat-seeking missile, and it also has some ×4 manual missile. The F-4 Phantom also has ×4 flares.

Special Ability
The F-4 Phantom has a special ability called Stress Turning. When activated, (Tap and Hold) it makes the F-4 be able to turn tighter, at the cost of health. The deceleration from turning is reduced by 50% and it also makes the F-4 be able to do 39 Degree turns, making it turn on par with some of the most maneuverable fighters in the game for a short amount of time. There is no cooldown period for this ability, but players should be cautious as prolonged use can lead to health depletion and eventual death.
Veteran Tips
The F-4 Phantom, while not maneuverable, carries some very potent armament and is best utilized at a distance from engagements. Players are advised to utilize manual missiles for their extended range until depleted, then switch to heat-seeking missiles while rearming. In dire situations where both missile types are unavailable, the cannon does good enough damage to secure a kill decently quick. Despite being outmatched in long-range combat by radar missile carriers, the F-4 holds its own due to its stress turning ability, allowing for better maneuverability compared to Interceptor jets, as well as its impressive speed. Additionally, its durability further enhances its combat capabilities.
Trivia
In real life, the F-4 Phantom fought in the Vietnam War, and extensively, too. It shot down over 150 MiG fighters, and in its total career has downed over 300+ aircraft. Pretty good for an aircraft that was not very agile compared to its adversaries like the MiG-15 for example, where its agility pales in comparison. Sure, it can carry more armament and missiles, but the AIM-9B Sidewinders that it carried (heat-seeking in game) were notorious for not performing very well. It takes quite some time from launch to track the target and only has a 10G overload, making it not impossible to dodge. The F-4 at first, was not even equipped with a gun, making pilots in dogfights lose since they could not deploy their missiles at such close range. The F-4 pilots were not even taught how to fight in close-range engagements, where a gun was needed. The first F-4 that came with an internal gun was the F-4E.
