Veteran Tips
The F/A-18F Super Hornet, is equipped with The multiple, medium range, fire-and-forget radar guided missiles can be fired at longer ranges. This comes at the cost of longer lock times, and lesser damage. The multiple short range missiles have average damage. The cannon, having higher damage, and zero spin-up, produces instantaneous damage at the pull of the trigger. This comes at the cost of shorter firing ranges, and fast overheat times. The special gun cooling is required to maximize cannon effectiveness. The F/A-18F Super Hornet has a fast roll speed which makes the maneuverability feel nimble. The afterburners provide higher top speeds. The afterburners have enough power to maintain optimal turn speeds in continuous maneuvers. With four longer range, medium range missiles, the F/A-18F Super Hornet can employ fighting at stand-off distances. There is a considerable lock time and range overlap between the medium range and short range missiles. It is suggested to not focus on directly killing a singular opponent at a time - instead of firing two missiles to kill one opponent, it is better to fire one missile at four different opponents and seriously damage those opponents. Allow teammates finish off the opponent. OR, fire the medium range missile, and follow up with a short range missile on a single target. The F/A-18F Super Hornet has a higher top speed which provides and advantage for Air Superiority. It best utilized in medium ranged dog fights.
Trivia
